Community
The Málaga WordPress community is vibrant, welcoming, and growing stronger every year.
Since our official launch in 2016, we’ve built a tight-knit group of WordPress enthusiasts from all walks of life: developers, designers, marketers, bloggers, business owners, and curious newcomers. What started as casual meetups in cafés has grown into a solid local ecosystem of collaboration, creativity, and mutual support. We hold regular monthly meetups, and over the years we’ve celebrated three WordCamps, the most recent one in April 2025. Every year, we also come together for our beloved beach event: MoragaWP, where learning meets a family-style beach barbecue and sunset networking.
The Spanish Community
The Spanish WordPress community is one of the most active and engaged globally. It’s powered by a broad network of local meetup organisers and contributors who run regular events like meetups, WordCamps and WordPress events. Spain has also organised more WordCamps than any other country, and many volunteers bring several years of hands-on experience not only running those events but also contributing directly to WordCamp Europe, providing deep expertise in speaker selection, sponsorship coordination and attendee engagement.
Local team
Delia Carballo
Lead organizer of WordCamp Málaga 2025 and co-organizer of the local Meetup, Delia is great at coordinating teams and handling event logistics, always focused on creating smooth and welcoming experiences for the community. She is a volunteer at WCEU 2025.
Nilo Vélez
WordPress veteran and organizer at multiple WordCamps, Nilo brings technical expertise and a strategic vision. He is a Community Team Event Supporter and has beer part of the WCEU organizing team for four years in a row.
Patricia Barquero
Co-organizer of the local Meetup and member of the WordCamp Málaga 2025 organizing team, Patricia manages communications and social media to keep the community connected, informed, and engaged.
Carlos Van Eyk
Co-organizer of the local Meetup and member of the WordCamp Málaga 2025 organizing team, Carlos is a website creator that contributes creativity and practical solutions to the community.
Fernando López
With a long history in the WordPress community, Fernando was the lead organizer of WordCamp Madrid 2025 and part of WCEU 2025 sponsors team. He brings his expertise and enthusiasm to support WordCamp events across Spain and help strengthen the community as Community Team Program Supporter.
Mª Carmen Sánchez
A recent but energetic addition to the WordPress community, Mª Carmen has already contributed as a volunteer at WordCamp Málaga. She brings enthusiasm and fresh energy to support the community and upcoming events.
Luis Colomé
Co-organizer of the local Meetup and member of the WordCamp Málaga 2025 organizing team, Luis is a web developer that supports the community with his technical know-how.
